Sooo…

October 31, 2007

I must confess, I am less than prepared.

*Drum Roll*

October 29, 2007

So – I have decided what to do for my NaNoWriMo novel. I even have a name! On here I’m just going to call it Prelude. I started a vague sketch for an outline today, and got a little farther than I was in my head, but not even halfway through the novel.

On another note, I have a three page report to write on aluminum before chemistry class tomorrow afternoon. I have less than one page. Who wants to know all that stuff, anyway? :6:

Have an unforgettably wonderful rest of the day.

Back and Forth

October 14, 2007

First, to the person who commented on the previous entry, this will only be my second time attempting NaNoWriMo. The first time, I just came with a plot idea and went with it. But my computer died and then my brother’s laptop that he was letting me use died, so I ended up not finishing it. I did SuNoWriMo on Clean Place, though, and wrote 61,000 words in the month.

So, onto this year’s plot matter. I’m reconsidering my original idea that I said I over-thought. I’m not sure what I’m going to do. I have a basic plot idea for a sequel to my SuNo, but I haven’t decided whether to do that or the contemporary/spiritual fiction idea. In other words…I need to keep praying  I really want to do whatever God wants me to, because without His involvement, it’ll pretty much stink. That’s the same with everything in life, actually…

Aside from NaNoWriMo…I just finished reading “The Visitation” by Frank Peretti. I enjoyed it. I was a little slow getting into it, unlike with his other novels I’ve read – This Present Darkness, Piercing the Darkness, The Oath, Monster, Hangman’s Curse, Nightmare Academy, and the Cooper kids series – but it kept getting more interesting as I went (and for the record, authors, it’s not a good idea to start out slow. You’ll often loose your reader). There were some disturbing parts, frustrating ones, sad and funny parts…and a great message. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone under 16 unless they’re a mature reader, though, because of disturbing parts of two different natures.

Ending this now. Have a truly amazing day.

Plot Problems

October 13, 2007

Not exactly problems, but I’m having some plot doubts. One problem is that I over-thought and over-outlined in my head my plot, and it doesn’t hold much excitement or discovery for me now. I’m considering writing a sequel to my SuNoWriMo, but the ideas are really sketchy right now – the opposite of my other plot idea. Once again, Gabriel will be the main character with Kylie behind, if not even. I think Zerian and Rain will both be in it, too, but I’m not sure about Treasure Phoenix. I’m going to miss Michael. *sniff sniff* I have a vague idea for a new character, too.

This idea puts less…stress (not exactly the right word but close enough) on me about it because I won’t be so intent on getting it perfect, I have more breathing room, and I can always write another sequel if this one doesn’t turn out so well. My plot idea I was going with…it sort of stressed perfect and I don’t think I can do that for NaNo. I might try and write it some other time. Of course, I’m 100% sure I won’t do it for NaNo at all, and neither am I 100% I’ll write a sequel to SuNo if I don’t.

We’ll see what happens.

NaNoWriMo

October 4, 2007

Ok, Nim “:p” So, folks, NaNoWriMo – National Novel Writing Month – is this November – again. That’s the month that thousands of people across the country write a 50,000-word novel in 30 days (interested? http://www.nanowrimo.org ). Last year I tried and failed because my computer died, and then my brother’s laptop that I was using died, so…this year, I’m hoping to succeed. I’m also hoping this is something God wants me to do…I think so, but I’m not positive, and I don’t want to spend all that time writing a novel if it’s not His will…

But anyways, I have a plot and am working (slowly :6:) on an outline. I need a name for the main character, though. Yeah, that’s pretty important. I’m thinking Brandon Something. I dunno why  And no, Something won’t be the last name.

I hope I can write enough words between homeschool, art, chemistry, and babysitting. At least, thanks to my laptop, I can take my novel with me some places :p

I’m not sure what else to say at the moment, so, signing off.

Have a blessed and amazing rest of your life.
