Today I went with Mom to a Wal-Mart that sells fabric. I returned the shirt pattern I bought because Hobby Lobby is having a pattern sale and I can get it for $1.99 there tomorrow. I paid $9 for it at Wal-Mart. Since I didn’t have the reciept, I was given a Wal-Mart gift card instead of cash. Naturally, I bought fabric, which I would have done anyway, so yes, I saved money.

Yep, they’re both polyester. I know – yuck. But they’re pretty, cost $1 a yard, and I’m sure I can find something to do with them. I have ideas :ninja:

God bless you!

I forgot until I didn’t have time to post this yesterday. I also forgot to take the picture until it was late, so this it’s just of my dresser and my two cloaks, my sister’s cloak, and my skirt failure hanging on the closet doors.

I got up earlier than usual this morning to go to Nimelen’s birthday party. I enjoyed it.

Have an amazing rest of your life.

The Final Inquiry

March 28, 2008

We rented it. Sadly, this movie has problems. Mom’s words: “The story is rather wacked out and convuluted.” It’s about a Roman warrior named Tauros (I think that’s his name, anyway) who goes to Jerusalem to investigate the death and resurrection of Jesus shortly after it happens. He falls in love with a Jewish girl along the way.

1. The love story is completely unbelievable. Love at first sight does not exist – you can’t love someone if you don’t know them. The only motive he could have for being attracted to her is her physical beauty and mystery since he doesn’t know her. The only motives she could have for being attracted to him is a) he did save her dignity from a very undignified man, b) she was flattered by the attention he proceeded to give her, and/or c) he provided a way of escape from marrying an old man and from her father who was forcing her to do so. None of these are good reasons to marry, and the long kiss was completely unecessary and probably historically inaccurate.

2. Hahahaha! Tauros, a Roman, started writing a letter in English.

3. Most of the acting is very poor and some of the lines are corny (mawkishly sentimental).

4. They left out important details about Steven’s stoning, such as the words he spoke and looking up and seeing Jesus before he died.

5. They took too many fictional liberties with non-fictional characters.

6. The musical score left something to be desired and often didn’t fit well with the scenes.

7. The fights weren’t very well choreographed.

8. Tabitha, who should be a role model as one of the main protagonists, disrespects her father.

It’s an intersting concept and could have been a good movie. It does have good points, but would have been so much better with good actors, better lines, a different romance, and better music. Christian movies can definitely help reach the world, but not if they’re so poorly the world just laughs. We need to make more good ones. I give them credit for trying, though, and I hope the message of Jesus’s death, resurrection, and power reaches people through this.

God bless you!

R.I.P. Neptune

March 28, 2008

Laura’s betta fish died today. I’m glad she’s not taking it badly. He was doing poorly for almost a week, so we were prepared. Poor fishie. She said she’s going to get a few small fish next instead of another betta.

Tomorrow I’m going to Nimelen’s birthday party. She’s turning 18. The Ferns and Crimson Phoenix are coming, too. We’re planning on roaming around their five acres in cloaks.

I’m tired. I don’t know what else to write about. Except in PaFQ! I have ideas for the next few scenes. But first, chemistry homework.

Have an amazing rest of your life.

I was going to post a picture of the Chik-fil-a that my mom, two sisters and I ate at for breakfast this morning, but changed my mind. So here’s the moon at 9 or 10 in the morning from the grocery store parking lot.

God bless you.

I remembered late in the evening to take a picture for the day, and ended up not being able to decide between these two. There’s a short bookshelf in the room I share with my younger sister. I have one and a half of the shelves.

Part of my whole shelf:

Have a mind-blowing rest of your life. God loves you. So do I.

P.S. In the first post about pictures, there’s a typo. I said it’s “where you take a picture day” when I meant “a picture a day”.

Dresser

March 26, 2008

On Sunday, I rearranged the decorations in my room. Here’s my dresser:

Yes, it needs dusting.

I hope this day surpasses every expectation of wonderfulness for you.

I forgot to take a picture yesterday, but my older sister took some of Sydney (who is technically her dog). Here’s my favorite. I edited most pictures on Paint Shop Pro 7 to enhance things like shadow, contrast, highlight, brightness, clarity, or color.

She was yawning.

Project 365…revised.

March 24, 2008

Project 365 is where you take a picture day for an entire year. I’m a few days late but I decided to do it for the spring and summer. I’ll be putting each one in its own post, so if you just want to see the pictures and not read everything I write, you can click on and add the category “S&S Picture Project” to your favorites. Today’s picture is:

I took it when I was working on my younger sister’s cloak.

God bless you.
