ANOTHER Journey to the Center of the Earth

December 26, 2008

But still not the one with Brendon Frasier that was released in theaters. We watched another made-for-TV version tonight with Rick Shroder, Victoria Pratt, Peter Fonda, and Steven Grayhm (who looks just like Matt Damon did when he was younger). Peter Fonda is the only one I’d ever heard of before.

It was less interesting and in-depth and exciting and well-made as the other one we watched. The acting wasn’t as good, either (not that it was stellar in the version we watched the other day, but definitely better than the acting in this one). But on the bright side, the Matt-Damon-look-alike who played the nephew didn’t fall in love with a girl in the center of the earth (I was going to stop watching if he did), and the people who lived there, more like Native Americans than cave-men, weren’t so immoral (the movie didn’t show much at all about how they live, in fact). So it was much better in that respect, but neither versions are worth watching again. My sister saw the new one with Brendan Frasier (I don’t know how to spell his name) in it today – she and a friend rented and watched it – and she said it’s better than both the ones we watched on TV.
