I don’t plan on using this blog again any time soon. I got tired of blogging and have other things I’d rather spend my time on. I do plan to continue to update my costume blog and probably my poetry blog.

I have a friend whose mother died today of complications having to do with lymphoma. Please pray for him and his family.

I’ve been neglecting my blogs…my life right now consists of many “coincidences” and me trying to figure out what they mean.
In other news, my older brother got a new job that he’s going to start Christmas week, and he’s moving out of the house into an apartment tomorrow because the job is an hour or two away from where we live now. My younger sister is going to move into his room. I’ll have my own room for the first time in my life. There are pros, such as more closet space, and cons, such as not being able to stay up talking about random things and making up silly stories.
The rest of this post is on a somewhat “mature” subject matter.
The matter is homosexuality. It saddens me that I feel the need to post this, but it’s becoming more of an issue in our society. There are Christians who have been deceived into thinking it’s okay, but it’s definitely not. The Bible says it is “an abomination” (in Leviticus). If you ever encounter it and want to know what the Bible says so that you can stand up for what is right, here are some verses.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10:
9Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
Romans 1:26-28
“For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper.”
1 Timothy 1:8-10
“We know that the law is good, provided that one uses it as law, with the understanding that law is meant not for a righteous person but for the lawless and the unruly, the godless and the sinful, the unholy and profane, those who kill their fathers or mothers, murders, the unchaste, homosexuals, kidnappers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is opposed to sound teaching,”

We went to the GA aquarium for the first time on Wednesday, so I feel justified in blogging about it.
I had a very good time. There are whale sharks, beluga whales, turtles, otters, penguins, sea lions, giant catfish, and piranhas among a wide variety of other aquatic creatures. My favorite tank was a huge one containing whale sharks and a myriad of fish and rays. There are three or four whale sharks there, I think. Pictures at the end of the entry.
After the aquarium, we ate lunch at The Varsity and went to a Christian bookstore. I bought Ted Dekker’s newest book, Sinner. I didn’t start reading it until yesterday. I stayed up until 3:20 AM reading it. So far, it’s more like Showdown than Saint, the other two books “Paradise novels” (Paradise is a town in them, in the Colorado mountains). But I like it better than Showdown, if not quite as much as Saint. We also went to a few stores to look for jeans, and one of them had cheap, interesting books. I got The Writer’s Book of Matches – 1001 Writing Prompts (and a copy for a friend, and then discovered some entirely inappropriate prompts, so I’ve been editing them), a book on drawing landscapes, and a Thai cookbook as a birthday present for my brother.
I was rather out of it for a while last night. Coffee does strange things to me, like inspire me to drink it with an upside-down plastic fork (well, okay, that was partly because I didn’t know there were spoons available, and it tastes better when you use a utensil…nothing like a little plastic and chemicals, ya know?). And sometimes it makes me feel odd, like last night, when instead of making me feel hyper, I felt sick – too warm, and then chilled, and then really tired (it’s made me feel strange in similar ways before). So I think I shall stop drinking it before church, because that’s a very inconvenient time to feel unwell. Oh wait, actually, I think I’ll just stop drinking it… I felt fine again later, after we got home, and as mentioned, proceeded to read until 3:20, when concentration became especially difficult.
I took 309 pictures and videos on two different cameras when we went to the aquarium. Here’s a handful:

to mention that there is a scene in Prince Caspian where the hag, the werewolf, and Nikabrik try to summon the white witch, and the hag does some chanting, and it’s a little weird. But they get put in their place (thank you Edmund!).

We had an interesting start to our Mother’s Day.
I was lying awake in bed early yesterday morning, only vaguely aware that the storm outside was what was keeping me up. My younger sister got up and came back in the room and said everyone was in the living room, so I decided to get up too. I could hear torrents of rain coming down outside my window and quite a bit of wind. My mom, my two sisters, and my older brother (you know the storm was really loud when it wakes /him/ up) were watching the weather channel. It was almost 5 AM.
Dad came in shortly after. There was a tornado warning in our area, but it never came to our house, thankfully. The wind did knock down the huge, old tree in our neighbor’s yard
So that’s how we celebrated the first part of the day
. We all went back to bed sometime before 6 I think, the storm much abated, and slept five more hours since we’d gotten home from church close to midnight.
I edited and printed one of my stories for Mom to read and made her a cake. My sisters made dinner for her and we made her a card. I wanted to do one shaped like a flower for a contest on a certain forum. We ended up putting two batches of chocolate frosting on the thing (plus a little bit of colored vanilla for decoration). It cracked me up that my two sisters sat there and watched me frost it part of the time. In the end I said it looked like a diseased, wilted sunflower. But my older sister said it looked like a healthy sunflower from another world, so we’ll go with her assessment. Mom said it was cute. And yes, here’s a picture:

The world really needs prayer right now. There were a lot of bad storms recently on the eastern US coast. In Myanmar, a cyclone killed thousands. They can’t burn or bury the bodies fast enough – there are too many of them. There are literally dead people and animals floating in the water. The water people are drinking. The people have to walk miles to find aid of any sort. In China, there was an earthquake they fear killed thousands. Please pray for these situations and for a drastic change in all this bad weather. Pray that if God is trying to get something through to us, we’ll grasp it very, very quickly. Pray that God will use this to bring millions to Him. What the enemy means for evil, God can use for good, every time, even though we struggle to see any good in this.
Thanks.
Have an amazing rest of your life.

I’ve noticed something. :p Some people who normally dress modestly seem to abandon that on their wedding day for low necks and bare shoulders. As a bride, you should be a picture of purity. This doesn’t mean you have to wear a long-sleeved, turtle-necked wedding dress! You can still look beautiful and elegant while, as the center of attention, not causing anyone to stumble, who certainly wouldn’t want to as you’re walking to the alter to meet your husband. You don’t want them to have to look away to protect their thoughts and show you respect.
Anyways, my older sister and I got back a short while ago from exercising. We did intervals of walking a minute, and then jogging for thirty seconds, and did a mile in ten minutes. My long-term goal is three miles in fifteen minutes, plucked from a certain book (Saint, by Ted Dekker, if you must know). At the end of the mile I felt like I was going to pass out and/or throw up, but I didn’t. I went home and drank a little Death in a Can (a.k.a. soda).
Ah! My last chemistry class was yesterday. Now I need to finish my algebra book, history books, and the level 1 French computer program before the next school year starts, while taking two weeks off in June to go to Colorado for the Clean Place moot. I’m thinking of doing lots and lots of French and reading some history every day until I finish that, and then focusing on math and reading some history every day until I’m done. Oh, and I’m planning to write another in July for Summer Novel Writing Month. So long to reading fiction for a while.
I should go do French soon.
God bless you!

I’m feeling better today, and I’m going to a mountain with the youth group a little later.
I’m itching to get back to sewing. I had so much cooking and cleaning and other stuff to do before Christmas that I haven’t sewn since before Christmas break. I’m thinking about turning the rest of the black cotton left over from the Renaissance shirt into a tabard, and printing a picture of the white tree of Gondor, cutting it out in white fabric, and sewing it on the tabard. I’m not sure if I’ll actually do this, though. I want to get started on the medieval/fantasy dress as soon as possible.
Have a blessed rest of your life.

There are way too many lines on his costume. I’m drawing him for my mother for the younger of the two boys that she tutors in math. He saw some of my drawings and loved them, and so Mom said she would give him a copy of my Pirates of the Caribbean drawing if he worked well on math that day, and he did, so she did. He asked her if I could draw Spiderman, and Mom said something along the lines of, “I’m sure she could, but I don’t know if she will.” And then she asked me to draw Spiderman for her to use to get the kid to apply himself (he’s autistic and is easily distracted). She did say she would pay me for it, after my comment about my mental health (though I think she mentioned it before).
I’m going to send the gift for the Callie’s Place gift exchange tomorrow, if I remember. I wonder who got my name.
A friend of mine sent me a script that she wrote and is having a bit of trouble with, so I hope I’ll be able to help her with it.
I’m kind of tired today and am not currently inspired with anything terribly interesting to write about, so, goodbye for the moment.

Good morning. I felt like writing a blog entry, so I am.
My sewing machine shipped yesterday! So hopefully it will arrive sometime next week. I want to go to Wal-Mart or Hobby Lobby soon to look at fabric…my first project will be a tabard. I learned yesterday that a friend recently bought a sewing machine of the same brand, though it’s a different model.
We might get a Christmas tree soon. I wonder how the Christmas tree thing started. I might have to look that up sometime…
I should do some chemistry homework soon. But I don’t feel very well today. But I should anyway, because I’ll feel worse if I don’t and have to cram it all into three days before class on Wednesday!
The youth group is making gingerbread houses two or three Fridays from now – those that sign up for it, anyway. I’m not very keen on the idea, except that I might be able to make mine resemble Rivendell or at the very least, The Prancing Pony or some such place. How, I’m not positive.
I just came across a quote that I really like: “But, the bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them, glory and danger alike, and yet notwithstanding, go out to meet it.” – Thucydides
My first pronunciation of that name was “Thoosy-dides” (pronounced so I would remember how to spell it in my blog). I wonder what the real pronunciation is. Or is it prononciation? I think the first. Edit: You know, on second thought, I think is “o” instead of “u” there.
NaNoWriMo ended yesterday for most people, but for me it ended several days before that. I ended with fifty-seven thousand and something words, but if I hadn’t summarized so much and had the time to go on, it would have been more like 70,000. I am planning on going back and filling it out when I do not have so many other things to do. I also have in mind some ideas for a third book concerning those characters, Hayden especially, but that is one of numerous ideas floating around in my head, so I am not sure when and if it will get written. I really want to finish my stories of Jason Kirk, the stories labeled 120 Seconds parts 1, 2, and 3. Part one is an unedited draft, part two is an unfinished one, and part three I have not even started. But I’m very attatched to the characters, especially the main one, and the plot.
How many ways are there to say “Have an amazing, blessed, God-encountering day”? All of those to you.
